Common Starling

Common Starlings are hyperactive so it is difficult to take a closeup picture of them. I was able to take this clean snap after several attempts at the Little Norway Park.

Starlings usually reside in large flocks sometimes reaching up to a hundred thousand or more. Their large flight formations are called murmurations that move in a beautiful synchronous order.

These birds are actually from Eurasia but have adapted well in the Americas and Australia. At places, they are considered pests due to their damage to the fruit crops. Their local name in Pakistan is "til'er" (تلیر). However, their numbers are on the decline in Pakistan due to overhunting and habitat loss.
