A Fleeting Existence

Monarch Butterflies are everywhere these days. They move from Mexico to Canada and back every year in a multi-generational trip. These creatures live fast and die young. They can cover more than a hundred kilometers in a day and their lifespans amount to mere weeks in summer.

This one appeared unexpectedly over Princes' Gates at the Exhibition Place. Earlier I watched a large flutter crowding around the Victory-Peace Memorial at Coronation Park. Perhaps visiting all the places of interest in Toronto is on their bucket list too.

Such a brief existence and a great deal to discover. But that is relatively true for all living beings, isn't it?
