Baldwin Steps


Once there was a lake Iroquois. I am talking about an awfully long time ago. In fact, around 12,000 years ago during the last Ice Age. Almost whole of present-day Canada was under a thick sheet of ice at that time. Then the weather started to warm up, glaciers retreated and the Great Lakes were formed. The ancient shoreline of that lake is marked by a ridgeline that runs through present-day Toronto. Baldwin Steps, named after a former landowner of the area, are carved into that cliff and connects to the Casa Loma and Spadina Houses. These steps offer a nice view of the city below.
