I like this word 'Inukshuk'; it tastes like something sweet when you think about it. But apart from sounding scrumptious, Inukshuks are part of the traditional Inuit culture. Historically, these were used as direction indicators, guides or makers for a food cache by the native people of Arctic North America. This simple human outline structure is also an international symbol of hope and friendship.
The eponymous park is on the waterfront and its main feature is this 30 feet high Inuksuk carved out of rose granite.
It was created in 2002 to commemorate World Youth Day by renowned Inuit artist Kellypalik Qimirpik.
The park is a great place to sit and relax along the lake Ontario.
Billy Bishop airport is also visible from the park and regular flights can be seen at a distance.
