Dentonia Park

Dentonia Park wears a freshly washed look after recent rainfall. The city is still in phase two of the reopening process after the COVID-19 pandemic. This park is usually a hub of sporting activities during this time of the year. Not much activity this summer as people of the area are observing caution.

The Tragic Sense of Life

Dr. Agnes Jurati: What’s your book about?

Captain Cristóbal Rios: The existential pain of living with the consciousness of death, and how it defines us as human beings.

Dr. Agnes Jurati: Well, that’s not a conversation killer at all.

(Star Trek Picard: S 1, E 4)

The conversation is about the book "The Tragic Sense of Life" by Spanish philosopher Miguel de Unamuno.

Thunder Moon

July's full moon is traditionally called a Thunder Moon because of the summer storms that occur in this month. It is also called a Buck Moon as male deer grow new antlers in early summer.

This full moon was also a partial penumbral eclipse. This kind of eclipse occurs when the Moon, Earth, and the Sun are not perfectly aligned. In this case, the moon passes through the more diffuse outer shadow of Earth called the penumbra. The resultant moon is marginally less illuminated than the regular full moon.
